H. Ray Berry, Jr., 70, of Hoover, joined with the Lord on June 9, 2014. He was born in Houston, TX on November 10, 1943 to the late Rev. H. Ray and Asa Hillin Berry, Sr. Ray graduated from Bryan High School in 1960 and Old Dominion University in 1973. He pastored several churches and founded Christian Deaf Fellowship. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dr. Sharon R. Berry, and two daughters, Sherry Berry of Hoover, AL, Jayne Cuidon and her husband Scott of Zagreb, Croatia, and six grandchildren: Tyler, Jackson, Shay, Sam, Emma and Sofie. Also, Jane Burden, his sister and her husband Dale of Virginia Beach, VA, 5 nieces and 1 nephew, whom he thought of as a son. He leaves behind many close friends and golf buddies. He was a source of joy and encouragement to everyone he met. Visitation will be at Southern Heritage, Hwy 119 Wednesday June 11, 3-4pm with services held at 4:00. Burial will be in Henderson, TX. The family requests in lieu of flowers to send donations to Christian Deaf Fellowship P O Box 26463 Birmingham AL 35260

Lynn E. Pridgen

Ray was a great classmate.  I don't remember seeing him without a smile on his face.  He will certainly be missed.  We mourn for him because we are not with him.  But we will meet again at the Master's feet.
