Charles Ray Britton, 75, of New Ipswich, New Hampshire and formerly of Bryan, passed away November 20, 2018. A Memorial Celebration of Ray's Life is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, in the chapel of Bryan City Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan, Texas.

Charles Ray Britton was born March 8, 1943, in Bryan, Texas. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School, he attended Texas A&M University, Class '65, and earned a B.S. in Architecture and attended MIT Sloan School of Management where he received his MBA. He was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam as a navigator on a Phantom. He reached the rank of Captain and was awarded the National Defense Medal, Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, and the Air Medal. He retired from Comet School Supplies in 2017 and moved to New Hampshire. He will be deeply missed.

Ray was preceded in death by his biological parents, Melba and Wesley Britton and adoptive parents, Ruby and Alfred Britton; step-mother, Virginia Britton Plunkett; and son, Thomas Benjamin "Benjie" Britton.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Gill Britton; daughters, Hannah Britton, Molly Britton Cain and husband, John Charles; grandchildren, Julia Catherine Cain and Charles "Charlie" Benjamin Cain; former wife, Robin Toland Britton Cate; sisters, Marguerite Britton Patterson, Laurie Britton Lind and husband Chuck; step-sisters, Kathy Britton Scroggins, Darline Britton Wilson and husband, Bob; step-brother, Ralph Britton; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
