Charlotte Ann Ponzio, 77, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, December 16 with her family by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 20 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Charlotte was born January 14, 1942 in Bryan, Texas the daughter of Joe Antone and Alma Hattie (Hinz) Fickey. She enjoyed being outdoors, on her swing praying the rosary. Being with family was very important to her, especially all together at Sunday dinners. Charlotte loved dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many Friday nights eating at the Longhorn with her best friend Albert.
Charlotte was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, the Alter Society, K.J.Z.T., Mt. Carmel Rosary Guild at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Brown Scapular Apostolate Leadership team.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Luke Ponzio; son, Chad Ponzio; grandson, Tommy Nickell; and brothers, Raymond, Sonny, and Lawrence Fickey.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Rickey Ponzio, Randy and Kim Ponzio; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and John Nickell Jr., Regina and Michael McDonald; daughter-in-law, Denise Ponzio; brother, Louis Fickey; sisters, Jolene Broach and Irene Stevener; companion, Albert Bonifazi; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice, especially Tonya for all of her care, dedication and comfort she gave to Charlotte in her final days.
