February 22, 1943 - June 14, 2016
Brazos County's native son, Robert Forsthoff, 73, a life long resident of his natural surroundings passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, embraced by the spirit of his loving family. A Memorial Life Tribute Service honoring the tranquil life of a man who spoke softly to all will be at 2pm, Friday, June 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church – Bryan. At a later date, his family will spread his cremated remains upon the land he affectionately adored and called home. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.
Robert Forsthoff was born to Charles and Emily Wiese Forsthoff. He began his dairy career at the early age of thirteen and continued on until he sold the dairy cattle and equipment in 1978. Shortly thereafter, Robert began his cattle career and truly became a rancher. He enjoyed being an avid gardener. Robert was best described as a caring gentleman at heart. However, it too is noted that he "meant what he said and said what he meant". He had a unique closeness with his creator God and shares his faith with his family and friends. He valued nature as God's special gift to the world.
He adored his wife of forty-eight years and eleven months, Clovis Ann Lovell Forsthoff. Together they shared a bond that was especially graced in God's parental care. Through this union of marriage they were blessed with three children. There was plenty of family time shared by all. Robert would come to enjoy life as a grandpa to his six grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
His parents, Charles and Emily Forsthoff; his parents-in-law Ernest and Alene Lovell also brothers-in-law Monroe Payne, Ray B. Darling, Joel Ernest Lovell, Richard Lovell and his wife Sylvia, sisters- in-law Linda Forsthoff; and Jennie Abel all precede him in death.
Robert is survived by his wife Ann Forsthoff; his children Rhonda Forsthoff-Turner, Brad Forsthoff and his wife Lani, Ernest Forsthoff and his wife Laura; his brother Fred Forsthoff; his sisters Helen Darling and Evelyn Payne; his brother-in-law J.B. Lovell and wife Ella; his sister-in-law Annie Lovell six grandchildren: Robert Harrison Turner, Reece Hudson Turner, Kristy Lynn Forsthoff, Christopher Allen Forsthoff, Braeden Levi Forsthoff, Rhett Addison Forsthoff; many nieces, nephews and their families, and a host of close friends.

I am in Atlanta and will miss Robert's service but I spoke with his wife Ann. She said Robert fought a 4 year courageous battle and is now at peace. We will miss him.
