Dr. Deanie French Hale, born in Ashland, Kentucky, on April 9, 1943, passed away September 14, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Charles Hale; five children, Anna, Terry, Jansen, Christy, and Wendy; niece and nephew, Dino and Ricci; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Tiffany, Mandy, Alec, Colton, Jamilyn, and Tristan; four grandnieces and grandnephews, Sonny, Ritchie, Michael, and Heather; and one great grandson, Brandon. Dr. French was a retired professor at Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas University). She was also one of the four founders of the free clinic in Austin. Dr. French was actively involved with expanding people's knowledge, especially by utilizing the Internet and increasing everyone's ability to use the Internet. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Austin Marriott South at 4415 South IH-35. The family requests that bright, happy colors be worn to the services (no black).
