August 13, 1943 – February 1, 2015
Alice Claire Galloway Luther of Bulverde, Texas, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 71 on February 1, 2015 at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after major complications from Diabetes and End Stage Renal Disease.
Claire was born August 13, 1943 in Hearne, Texas to C.H. Galloway and Mildred (Bishop) Galloway. She was the fourth of six children. She was a 1961 graduate from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan. Claire loved to be with family, friends, and loved to travel on cruises and visit Las Vegas. She worked for several banks in Texas for many years and also worked for the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, from which she retired in 2006.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Luther-Jett; her parents, C. H. and Mildred Galloway; brothers, Vernon and Charles Galloway; and sister, Mary Galloway.
Claire leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Joe Luther of Bulverde, Texas; daughter, Sharon Luther-Minor and husband Greg of San Antonio; her loves, her grandchildren, whom she could never love enough, Ricky Jett, Jr. and wife Ashley of New Baden; Lauren Minor and Eric Minor of San Antonio; and great-grandson Drake of New Baden; two brothers, Glid Galloway and wife Ira of Athens, and Wilbur Galloway and wife Sheila of Bryan; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind and loving person.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas. Service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church, 4221 Boonville Road, Bryan, Texas on Saturday, February 7, 2015 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan, Texas. Reverend Randall Bard officiating.
