Johnnie L. Winters of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on June 20, 2015. He had been in declining health for several years and is now whole again with his Lord. Johnnie was born on April 19, 1943 in Bryan and grew up here attending Stephen F. Austin High School in the early sixties. He served his country for 20 years around the world in the United States Air Force retiring in Fort Worth in 1982. He loved his country and proudly let everyone know in his talk and by the clothes he wore. He continued to work hard over the next two decades for Northern Telecom, Fluke, and General Electric.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnnie H. and sister Candace. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jo of Fort Worth, daughter Mary Michele of Lewisville, son John Matthew and wife Delaine of Emory, son Thomas Nathan of Fort Worth. He is also survived by the light of his life in 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, his mother Wanda L. of Laguna Park, brother Joe and wife Kathy of Laguna Park, and brother Jasper and wife Debra of Austin.

A memorial service will be held at Alexander United Methodist Church in the Tabor community on Saturday July 25th at 2 p.m.
