I served in the Marines 1960 to 1964. When I got discharged, Honorably, by the way, I worked at the Post Office for 5 years in Bryan then moved to Houston in 1968. I have been married to Rebecca Chavira for 51 years. I retired from ATT in 2012 and now do real estate. But, my passion is golf and have been playing for 52 years. I do all the things seniors do. But, in spite of all the things that go wrong, isn't it fantastic and amazing to still be above ground. Right now I am working on my bucket list. A personal Salute and Thank You to those that served in the Armed Forces. My son retired finally from the from the Marine Corps in February 2019, looking forward to re-knowing him, his wife Bertha and two grandkids, Levi and Emmy, or as I call them, LC&M. My son is now running for congress in the 22nd Texas Congressional District(fm Pearland to Sugarland), in the March 2020 Republican primaries.
School Story:

It seems that I visited all the schools in Bryan, elementary at Ibarra Elementary(an all Hispanic school)(1st and 2nd), Bowie (3rd, met the first anglo student), Travis(4th, lived on a dairy farm close to Kurten), Ben Milam(5th and 6th), then Lamar Jr(7th), Anson Jones Jr(8th and 9th) and last SFA. I had a great experience touring all the schools. But at the end, I graduated from LeTourneau University with a degree in Business Management.

There is not one signature moment in high school, Great years from the first thru high school, great people.

My deepest condolenses to the family.  I left Bryan at the age of 23 and never had much contact with my former schoolmates, however, I do remember the friends I made during my school years. And one of them was Billy. I transferred from Bowie Elemntary to the 4th grade at Travis Elementary and there is where I first met Billy.  We remained friends since then. We lived on a dairy farm toward Kurten and if my memory serves me right, he lived in that area, too and we rode the school bus together.  Gone, but not forgotten.  May you Rest In Peace.

Where do you play golf in Houston, I'm a member at Golfcrest CC, I play 3-4 times a week still trying to correct my faults(golf), my handicap has gone up to16.
