After graduation, I attended A&M for 3 semesters but left after an early and ill-advised marriage. I was married to the “starter wife” for 16 years, finally divorcing in 1979. There were three children, two girls and an adopted son.

Some of you know that I worked for Bryan PD from 1962 to 1965. I left Bryan in January ‘66 to work in federal law enforcement. I spent a year with the U.S. Border Patrol and then the next 17 years working undercover narcotics for DEA or one of its predecessor agencies.

I remarried in 1981. It turns out that Janelle was the person I had been searching for my entire life and we’ve been ecstatically happy ever since. We’ve had an adventurous life.

In 1983, I left the feds and we bought and operated an upscale gourmet kitchen-gift shop in Keene, New Hampshire. We sold that business in 1988 and started a historical document preservation business and a land-title research business. In 1992, we sold those businesses and moved to Natchez, Mississippi, to get away from the long winters and snow. I worked for a casino company there and in Lula, Mississippi until 1998.

In 1998, we moved to Austin and I worked as a manager and investigator for the Driver Training Division of the Texas Education Agency. We bought a cottage in Bryan’s Eastside Historic District (about 5 blocks from Stephen F.) in 2007 and then I retired in late 2008 and we permanently relocated to Bryan. We’ve renovated our cottage and love living here.

We follow Aggie sports, especially football and women’s basketball. I still fish, piddle, and generally remain a ne’er-do-well and lay about.

I have truly enjoyed reading the updates on this website and seeing pictures of classmates. My e-mail is gigem at suddenlink dot net.
