Mike was an amazing husband of 54 years, a selfless and loving father and grandfather. He went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2019.

November 12, 1943 - June 11, 2019

Michael Walter Hyde was born November 12, 1943 in Bryan, Texas to Walter Hubert Hyde and Dorothy "Dolly" Goodman Hyde. He was the oldest brother to two sisters, Judy Hyde Guthrie and Jill Hyde, both of which he named. Michael excelled both academically and musically throughout his school career, singing in the choir, playing clarinet in the band, and graduating Stephen F. Austin High School as Valedictorian. Upon graduation he entered the School of Engineering at Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets and Texas Aggie Fighting Band.

Mike married his High School sweetheart, Lunette Ann Fazzino Hyde, on January 24th, 1965. A year later he graduated Texas A&M as an Electrical Engineer and was immediately hired by IBM. He entered the United States Army in 1967 and served as a First Lieutenant in Intelligence during the Vietnam War. Mike and Lunette had their first daughter, Michele Janice Hyde in 1967 and their second daughter, Cesilee Jo Anna Hyde in 1972.

While employed with IBM he worked at NASA on the Apollo Missions in Huntsville, Alabama and Clear Lake, Texas. He later moved his family to Austin, Texas joining the IBM Advisory Board. Mike completed 25 years of service with IBM, retiring in 1991. Mike later served as a Software Engineer at the Texas Department of Transportation, completing his second retirement in 1999. Mike and Lunette lived in Georgetown, Texas for 29 years.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Dolly Hyde, and his daughter Michele Hyde. He is survived by his wife Lunette, his sisters Judy (Michael Guthrie) and Jill, his daughter Cesilee Ferrell, son in law Jeff Ferrell, and his two grandsons that were the pride and joy of his life, Luke Michael Ferrell and Benjamin Harris Ferrell. Mike was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where he loved singing in the choir. Mike was an amazing husband of 54 years, a selfless and loving father and grandfather. He went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2019.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on the evening of Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. The service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Ramsey Funeral Home Chapel in Georgetown. Contributions made on Mike's behalf should be directed to his Pastor who will officiate the service, Dan Wooldridge of Crestview Baptist Church.

Mike was brilliant, talented and an all round good guy.  I’m sorry to hear he has left us.  My sympathies to Lunette,  the girls and their families.
