Wincey Lane Williams, 72, of Kerrville went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 9, 2016. A private burial was held at Masonic Cemetery Saturday, June 18.
Wincey Lane was born to Dalton and Mildred Vance and lived
her early years in Bryan, Texas. She attended Sam Houston State University, where she met her husband, Bill Williams. The two were married on September 5, 1964. After their marriage the couple lived in Bryan for a short time until moving to Houston, where they had and raised a baby girl Shannon Lynn. In 1986 they moved to the Hill Country. Wincey worked as an office manager for Raleigh A. Smith, III, MD.. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Wincey was very crafty and spent a lot of time restoring furniture. Another of her most dear things to do was to help anyone in need.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dalton and Mildred Vance and brother, Gary Vance. She is survived by her husband, Bill Bertner Williams, daughter, Shannon Williams-Maass and husband Ernst Maass, first cousins, Lynn Vance, Sam Turk, Mike Rhodes, Caroline La Tour, George Warlick, Terrell Warlick, James Warlick, Richard Vance, Pat Vance-Fagan, Jerry Nelson, Tommy Tucker and Sonny Tucker. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were J. Steven Hoerster, MD, Raleigh A. Smith, III, MD, Larry Thomas, Nolin Stehling and Grady Montgomery.
Memorials can be directed to the Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue of Texas, The Great Dane Rescue of North Texas, Inc. or Charity of your choice.

Wincy Vance lived in my Neighborhood in the 8th and 9th grade near Anson Jones Jr. High. I remember her with her sweet smile and she was a friend to all. Wincy was a super nice Lady. We will Miss her.
