I am very blessed to have a wonderful family that keeps me going. I have 3 daughters- Lynette, Kim, and Carla. I have 7 grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 23. I have a job that i still love and is fulfilling. I have taught for 35 years and still going! I live in Arlington, Texas and have been 40 years. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in April.I plan to retire in 2012 and look forward to spending more time with my family and traveling. Linda Turek Scott and I went on a Mediterranean cruise when we turned 65. We traveled to Italy, Greece, and France. It was a trip of a lifetime. I am divorced and stay busy in a singles group in Arlington/Fort Worth.Still looking for Mr. Right! I love working on computers(how did we ever live without them!) and plan to start an internet business next year in the field of education. I attended college at Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana and married in 1964. I began my teaching career in Ennis, Texas and have taught in Tyler, Fort Worth, and Arlington as well. I have taught 2, 3, 4, 5th grades as well as Driver's Education and Adult Education at night. Raising 3 daughters alone required many part time jobs at times to supplement my income. My two youngest daughters will receive their masters degrees in August-one in Library Science and one in Administration. My oldest grandson just became Youth Minister at First Baptist Church in Corsicana, Texas. He also plays in a band called Reverchon and their music can be purchased on ITunes. It is a Christian band. I have another grandchild headed to college next year. Where have the years gone? It has gone by too quickly. I am very proud to be part of the class of SFA 1961 even though I actually graduated from Tyler, Texas. I have always felt more a part of this class and appreciate this class always including in the activities. We have truly lived up to our motto- We 're the class of '61, we're the class that's full of fun!" Looking forward to our next party!

When I found out I was leaving Bryan after living here for 11 years I was very upset. I was given a going away party with many high school friends invited. At the party the girls embroidered their names on handkerchiefs. Several years later those handkerchiefs were sewn into a beautiful quilt that is on my guest bed. I look fondly at that quilt and think of the wonderful times that were spent with those girfriends. I brought the quilt to one of our previous reunions for display.

Another famous school story was when my best friend Alice Looney swallowed her contact lens during attest and put all of us in a panic until the eye doctor said the stomach juices would dissolve it!

I also remember,not fondly, of the Bryan girl's club initiation downtown Bryan. They put a horrible concoction of sulphur, prunes, oatmeal in our hair and made us wear signs around our necks. The initiation got so many parent complaints they stopped it after ours. It took 16 shampoos to get the concoction out of my hair.
